Just like back over the Summer in Disneyland, Star Wars Galaxy's Edge hit an important…
We knew the planet for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is called: Batuu, but now we know the exact name of the village too! Last night during the Star Wars Galactic Nights event in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it was announced that “Black Spire Outpost” is the official village name for Star Wars Land. There was also some history about Black Spire Outpost that was given on the special Galaxy’s Edge Panel which gets its name from the giant petrified trees that the village is built around:
“The largest settlement on the planet Batuu, Black Spire Outpost is an infamous stop for traders, adventurers, and smugglers traveling around the Outer Rim and Wild Space. Off the beaten path, this outpost has become a haven for the galaxy’s most colorful — and notorious — characters. Widely known for the petrified remains of its once towering ancient trees, the spires now stand guard across the river valleys and plains and have long captured the imagination of travelers to this planet. To the first settlers, these petrified spires became more than just landmarks; they became the heart of the outpost itself.”

They also revealed some new information about Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge including how Disney Imagineers plan on bringing Galaxy’s Edge to life with creatures such as the Tooka Loth-Cat, as well as details about the Battle Escape attraction which confirmed our breakdown of the Battle Escape queue layout.
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is opening on May 31, 2019 at Disneyland and August 29, 2019 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
