As you know already Pixar Pier opened up last year in Disney California Adventure and with it are 4 new neighborhoods with new attractions. One of those attractions is an “Inside Out” themed attraction called: “Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.” It will be located naturally in the neighborhood: Inside Out Headquarters.
Disney has just given us a brand new look inside the walls at the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind:
I love all the glowing memory orbs from Inside Out! This will look amazing at night!!
The Emotional Whirlwind is inspired by the hit Pixar film “Inside Out,” where you step into the workplace of Riley’s Emotions—Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger. Once you hop aboard one of eight Memory Movers, you’ll take a sense-ational spin and find yourself surrounded by vibrant shelves packed with glowing recollections.
From what we can see so far it looks like an attraction similar to Dumbo in that you get in small vehicles and are lifted around a center pole and are swung around and around in the air, but of course everything is themed to Inside Out. This is in fact the updated version of the old Flik’s Flyers.
It’s obviously not going to be any competition to Galaxy’s Edge just down the street this Summer, but it looks like a cute ride which will appeal especially to families with little kids looking for something fun yet not too thrilling.
Here is a look at a few of the attraction posters, each of which explore parts of the mind as featured in “Inside Out.”
Each one of them explores a different emotion of the mind, just like in the film!
The other 3 neighborhoods in Pixar Pier are Incredibles Park (with its headliner the Incredicoaster), Toy Story Boardwalk and Pixar Promenade. Toy Story Boardwalk just got another new attraction in Jessie’s Critter Carousel which is inspired by Jessie’s wilderness friends from “Woody’s Roundup.” This is your classic boardwalk carousel.
We don’t have an exact date for the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, but it’s opening in Pixar Pier later in June.
